Q.     What are your office hours?

A.     Although our Operations Centre (located in Caboolture) is open 24hrs a day, some administration enquires may not be able to be answered by the Control Operators. Administration Staff are available between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday. The Accounts Department are available between 9am and 4pm on a Tuesday to Thursday. Q   Why do I need security when I already have Insurance?

Q.     Do I have to call an interstate call centre outside of your business hours?

A.    No. NSR is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from our Operations Centre located in Caboolture, just 45min from the Brisbane CBD. All of the Control Operators have access to your information and can handle any operational enquires that you may have.

Q.     Can I contact the manager of NSR directly?

A.    Yes. Our Divisional Managers are contactable via email or mobile phone. Click here to view the managers contact details. You can also speak to the duty manager on 1300 307 839 (available 24/7). If you would like to speak to one of the company directors, they are usually available during business hours on 1300 307 839.

Q.     How secure are my alarm codes if they are provided to NSR?

A.    All alarm codes are entered into our dispatching program (SMART), which is kept on a secure server stored in an office that is protected by access control, CCTV and an alarm system. Only control operators and management have access to the dispatching program. All employees are required to sign a confidentiality agreement prior to commencing employment with NSR. Alarm codes are NEVER written down and are only supplied to the security officers at the time that they require them. Alarm codes are NEVER carried around with the officers.

Q.     How secure are my keys if they are provided to NSR?

A.    All keys are sealed to the patrol chains with a tamper evident seal that is numbered. The seal number is recorded in our dispatching program (SMART) which is kept on a secure server stored in an office that is protected by access control, CCTV and an alarm system. Only control operators and management have access to the dispatching program. When not in use the keys are held in a locked safe inside of the Operations Centre and is protected by access control and CCTV. The key numbers and site names are NEVER written down and are only supplied to the security officers at the time that they require them. Key listings are NEVER carried around with the officers.

Q.    Do your security guards wear uniforms?

A.    Yes and No. All NSR Security Officers are provided with two types of uniforms. One uniform is designed to be very 'official looking', and the other is designed for crowd control (view our photo gallery).

Some jobs may require our security guards to be more covert and therefore wearing plain clothes. All of the officers are required to carry identification that can be produced when asked. Under the Security Providers Act, crowd controllers are required to be clearly identified with a numbered badge.

So apart from crowd control, our guards can either be plain clothed or uniformed depending on your needs.

Q.     Are the security guards covered by workers compensation if they are working at my site?

A.    Yes. NSR have workers compensation insurance through Work Cover Qld. We are more then happy to provide a PDF copy of our insurance policy if requested, including a certificate of currency. Simply call the office on 1300 307 839 during business hours or send us an email at admin@nsr.com.au.

Q.     How many number of times will you visit my site throughout the night? 

A.    The standard number of times is 2, one before midnight and one after. However, we can tailor a patrol service to meet your requirements.

Q.     Do the number of calling cards left in my door indicate the number of times that a security officer has visited?

A.   No. The calling cards are designed for two purposes:

1. To help the security officers identify if a door has been opened since their last check.

2. To let the client know that that particular door was checked by an NSR Security Officer.

Multiple calling cards just cause a mess and are environmentally unfriendly.

Q.     Can I choose not have any calling cards?   

A.    Yes. Although we don't recommend this because of the benefits that are explained above. You can choose not have any calling cards.

Some clients find that calling cards build up on the ground and cause a mess, while other clients like having the calling cards in their doors.

A.    No. We already work with the majority of the major banks, and we are happy to set up a relationship with your financial institution.

Q.     Will the guards be wearing a uniform?  

A.   Yes. All guards will be easily identified in our company uniforms and incident controller vests.

Q.     What if I don't want my guests to feel intimidated by your guards? 

A.   All of our guards are licensed and trained and act in a professional manner. Our guards will only act under your direction (unless in the case of an emergency).

Alarm Responses

Q.     Are the security officers able to reset the alarm system when responding to alarm activations?  

A.       Yes. We already hold keys and codes for hundreds of customers, including the Moreton Bay Regional Council Depots. We are able to do an internal check to make sure that everything is secure, and then reset the alarm prior to leaving.

Q.     How long does it take to respond? 

A.   Response times vary depending on the location of your site and the location of the security officer at the time of the activation. We are one of the largest privately owned security firms in the area and we have eight patrol vehicles on the road each night. This combined with our state-of-the-art dispatching software and GPS Fleet Management, we can dispatch a patrol vehicle within seconds.
